The Old San Juan Restaurant
The "Old San juan" Restaurant and Discotek...
At 4429 Walzen (In the corner of Austin Highway and Walzen), San Antonio.
This is a Puerto Rican restaurant that doubles as a club after 9PM Thursdays to Sundays. Really delicious food that maintains the true Puerto Rican flavor. Friendly "Spanish-speaking" waiters and waitresses. The main complaint we hear is that, during peak hours, service can be painfully slow...
Smoking is not allowed, therefore the dancing floor is a joy...
Azuca...
713 South Alamo Street, San Antonio; (210) 225-5550
Exotic and comforting Nuevo Latino dishes: try the ceviche. Consistency is not a virtue of this restaurant. The mofongo is sometimes too greasy and impossible to eat... at other times it is delicious...
You have to cross your fingers!
El Bohio...
Harry Wurzbach; for some, the best Puerto Rican restaurant in San Antonio.
El Coqui Sports Bar on Hwy 78... unrated as of today....

Graham's Central Station
Fredericksburg Road, about 2 blocks outside the 410 Loop. They have 6 different dancing floors with different types of music: ranchera, country, latin, pop, etc. They also have very friendly Karaoke, if you dare....We enjoy this dancing place, although it does not have the best of reputations...

Places to avoid at all cost
Blue Ball Room; this is place is nasty inside, the bathrooms are filthy, the security in the parking lot is awful. Last time I went to an activity there, they reported 5 car break-ins. The manager does not know what customet service is.
