There are a few thousand Puerto Ricans in San Antonio;  stand up and be counted!

In the 2000 Census, they counted 7,774 Puerto Ricans in the city of San Antonio.  That accounted for less than 1% of the population.  The estimates for year 2006, put the number of Boricuas en San Antonio at 9,036.  That is an increase of about 16%, however, it is still, less than 1% of the population.  The hispanic or latino population for 2006 was estimated at 758,000.

      • Exotic and comforting Nuevo Latino dishes: try the "mofongo" and the ceviche. Consistency is not a virtue of this restaurant.  The mofongo is sometimes too greasy and impossible to eat.
